Combine the art of telling stories with freely available multimedia tools and web publishing and you can engage students, teachers, parents and the world. In this session we will consider how to use the power of these applications to address literacy and the oral language curriculum. You will explore the packages yourselves, consider how to choose the most appropriate media for a project and develop and produce your own digital story. We will consider publishing your stories and address online safety and security.

Animated films and the skills needed to produce them can provide a stimulus to learning across the curriculum - especially in Literacy/English, Art and Design, History and Science. This will really get your students creative juices flowing as they try and reconstruct a story, an event in history or a scientific discovery. This workshop will walk you through the process of making 3 simple stopmotion animations: whiteboard/drawn; 2D cardboard cutouts and time lapse.

Create! (Part 2) Claymation (offered regionally and inhouse)
Search for “Claymation” on You Tube and explore music videos, strange new worlds, re-enacted scenes from movies, advertisements… In this full on, hands on workshop prepare to create your own Claymation movie. You will learn how to create characters and sets, the importance of lighting, storyboarding, adding music and sound effects using iMovie or Windows Movie Maker. Leave with heaps of ideas for using Claymation with your students.
