Edukite is an eportfolio tool, also referred to as an LMS. It is available for both early childhood and primary. Most organisations begin with a one or two class pilot.

Professional development is integral to the success of an initiative such as Edukite. The level of professional development that you will require from Breathe Technology will vary from school to school depending on the amount of responsibility and release time the Kitemaster is given to support other staff. The programme detailed below should be viewed as a number of building blocks and it is up to each individual school to identify, in conjunction with ourselves or Sitech Systems, exactly how much support they will require to ensure Edukite is used to its full potential. Refreshers are also available for new staff and students.

Kite masters (Up, Up and Away!) Free training with your Pilot
Training the administrator(s)
Part 1: Skype session - 1 hour
Part 2: Skype session – 1 hour
Face to face version of the above can be delivered free of charge but the school will be asked to cover travel and expenses
Refresher sessions for new kitemasters $100+GST per session

Teachers (Flying your kite)
A look at the features of Edukite, each feature illustrated by examples of how it could be exploited in the classroom
Introductory Skype session - 2 hours ($200+GST)
Face to face version of the above ($200+GST plus travel/expenses)
Advanced Skype session – 2 hours ($200+GST)
Face to face version of the above ($200+GST plus travel/expenses)

Additional ICT Skills for Teachers (Keeping the wind blowing)
This session looks at some of the “background” ICT skills teachers are going to require in order to fully utilise
Edukite e.g. wikis, blogs, photo compression and video editing)
Keeping the Wind Blowing Skype session - 2 hours ($200+GST)
Face to face version of the above ($200+GST plus travel/expenses)

Students (Spinning your kite)
Designed to be delivered to “mini” kitemasters – specialist students responsible for helping other students to utilise their kites. Approximately two students from each class to attend.
Face to face only – 3 hrs ($300+GST + Travel/expenses)

Parents (Landing the kite)
How to get started and bring the kite into the home
Introductory Skype session - 1 hr ($100+GST)
Face to face version of the above ($100+GST plus travel/expenses)
