"As an English language teacher, as soon as I came across the Internet I could see its potential for bringing down those classroom walls and enabling my (then Taiwanese) students to communicate with real people. Initially through epals, class projects stretching across the globe, websites, skype, class blogs… The foreign language switched from academic subject to a real communication tool and my job just got a whole lot easier.
