Training Package Options
Professional development is integral to the success of an initiative such as School-links. The level of professional development that you will require from Breathe Technology will vary from school to school. The programme detailed below should be viewed as a number of building blocks and it is up to each individual school to identify, in conjunction with ourselves or School-links, exactly how much support you will require to ensure School-links is used to its full potential. Refreshers are also available for new staff.
Training the administrator(s) – 2 hrs ($300+GST and any travel and expenses)
- Revisit early notification – any questions?
- Revisit what the parents need to know
- Setting up user groups
- Sending messages
- News
- Events
- Some guidelines on working with attachments (compressing photos; pdfs etc) to minimise costs
Generic teacher session – 2 hrs ($300+GST and any travel and expenses)
- Logging in as teachers
- A look at user groups (created by the administrator) e.g. your class; your teaching and learning groups; your parents
- Sending messages e.g. bring something beginning with Y for show and tell
- Events e.g. class trip
- Managing Parent Interviews
- Ideas for teaching and learning e.g. homework, treasure hunts…(optional)
Specialist Sports Administrator/Teacher session
- As above plus:
- Setting up user groups e.g. your teams
- Sending messages e.g. kit reminder
- Events e.g. hockey tournament
- Ideas for teaching and learning e.g. orienteering (optional)
Parents’ information session – 2 hrs ($300+GST and any travel and expenses)
- How to register and sign up for groups
- Absences – how to alert school that your children will be absent
- Early notification – how to respond
- Events – how to respond
- Parent interviews – how to book
- Edit profile
Whole day package: 3 sessions in 1 day to save on travel/expenses
Sample programme:
- Training the Administrators – 2 hours (e.g. after lunch)
- Generic Teacher Session – 2 hours (e.g. after school)
- Parent’s Information Session – 2 hours (e.g. early evening timed with a Parent Information evening)
Total package: $900+GST +travel costs and expenses*
We are happy to run joint sessions for clusters of schools by arrangement.
