Stage 1 (Technical training):
1.5 hour intro to the hardware
This session runs through all the equipment on the science trolley and ensures that teachers and/or students know:
• how everything should be connected
• how to use all the ICT equipment – visualizer, data logger, flexi-scope and easispeak
• where to find everything – the basic contents of the bins, the instructions, the lesson plans and some useful resources for the science trolley
This session lasts for 1.5hrs. We encourage staff with ICT / AV responsibilities to attend too.
Stage 2 Embedding the science trolley into your investigations
1.5 hour teacher training
This session provides teachers and/or students with ideas on how to integrate the different ICT tools that are included in the science trolley into an investigation. We ask the school to provide us with a topic e.g. plants and we will run through how an inquiry into this topic could work now that you have all the resources of the science trolley to hand. If your school has yet to decide on an initial focus for your science trolley, we will provide you with some examples from other schools that we have worked with. A hands-on idea packed session.
